Mara Regine Javier is a graduate of Global Academy’s Grand Diploma in Professional Culinary and Baking and Pastry Arts. With the world class training she got from Global Academy, she was confident that she was well-prepared to work with the best chefs and be able to adapt easily in a stressful kitchen environment. Her months of in-house training at Gran Hotel La Florida (a 5-star grand luxury hotel) indeed trained her well and it opened a new set of opportunities for her. She was part of the café, room service and lobby bar’s production and service, banquet for the pastry at the gastronomic restaurant.
After graduating last September, she is now ready to step in another world-class experience after being chosen by Marriott Doha Culinary Voyage Program to be among the 500 graduates around the world to join their program this November. The program is an opportunity to learn Marriott’s global business and standards for the hospitality industry. Starting the culinary journey has been one of the best decisions she has made. It has opened opportunities that she never thought would be possible (having to choose between a career in Ritz-Carlton and Marriott, eventually choosing the latter). According to her, “If there is one thing I have learned, it is that in this career that we chose, we always have to know how to adapt. Show up everyday positive. Learn from the best and be the best that you can be.”
