“Limitations live only in our minds, but if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless” – This quote inspired Alicia Alcobendas throughout her internship.
Alicia Alcobendas had her 600 internship in Bridges Bali. Alicia said she isn’t a huge fan of art, sketching, painting and carving but little did she know she’s really a huge fan of art but not through canvasses but through food.
Excerpts from her journal:
“The Bridges Bali has a “Divine Friday” theme. Most of the time I am assigned to prepare 5 different canapés for 50 to 100 guests every Friday. This happens to be my favorite day because seeing guests appreciating your work and complementing you for the wonderful treat is really a wonderful feeling”
“Gaining international experience in one of the top restaurants in Ubud, Bali where culture and diversity flourishes allowed me to gain a great deal of hands on experience. This taught and helped me learn a combination of numerous techniques and skills which allowed me to further develop the skill set I have acquired during my extensive training with Global Academy to real life situation through repetition”
“Culinary Arts is a difficult, humbling but very rewarding profession. There is so much more to a culinary degree than just cooking and baking. I am really glad that I made the right choice to study in Global Academy and be trained by experienced chefs who gave me a good head start.”
